Discover the European contribution of GFII about "company & company ownership" as part of the Deloitte study on the preparation of implementation acts intended by the article 14 of the PSI III Directive.

Directive 2019/1024 concerning open data and the re-use of public sector information was adopted on June 6, 2019 and will have to be transposed in 07/2021. It will replace and improve Directive 2003/98 /EC. This new directive provides for the adoption of implementing acts defining a list of high value data sets (HVDS) held by bodies of the #public sector and public enterprises intended to integrate 6 thematic categories (statistics, geospatial, environment and earth observations, meteorology, mobility, businesses and business ownership), as well as their conditions for reuse across the EU.

These datasets have to be available for free via API, in a machine readable form and mass download.

Deloitte and the Lisbon Council have been selected by the European commission to carry an impact study and help the Commission to design implementation acts.

For several weeks, the facilitators of the public data and open data working group have been in contact with the Deloitte team to bring all of the GFII's expertise in this area. The GFII has chosen to focus particularly on the category of business data and business ownership and has written a contribution for Deloitte on this subject. This contribution highlights the challenges of the free data provision model, both for private and public producers, and the interference that may exist between different levels of regulation. The GFII thus brings all its expertise and competence to bring together experts from the private and public sectors.

Thus, an other contribution on "Geospatial, environment & earth observation" is intended.
